 7 days Uganda safari highlight itinerary:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL/LODGE

Our driver guide will meet you on arrival at Entebbe airport, and transfer you to your accommodation in Kampala. (For those arriving earlier, an afternoon excursion can be planned to the famous tombs of the Kabaka kings, Uganda museum,Bahai temple and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 Christian convicts were killed under Kabaka(King of Buganda)-Mwanga in 1886. Meals and overnight at; High end/luxurious accommodation – Serena Kampala Hotel, Imperial Medium class accommodation- Hotel Africana, Imperial Royale Hotel, Metropole Hotel Kampala, Humura Resort. Low budget/basic accommodation- Holiday Express Hotel, Namirembe Guest House, Makerere Guest House, Red Chilli Hideaway.

DAY 2: TRAVEL TO KIBALE

Leave Kampala after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park or Bigodi nature walk is amazing. Meals and over night at; High end/luxurious accommodation- Ndali Lodge, Kibale Safari Lodge or Primate Lodge. Medium class accommodation- Nature Lodges, Mountains of the Moon Hotel, Chimps Nest, Nyinabulitwa Resort. Low budget/basic accommodation- Chimpanzee Guest House or Rwenzori View Guest House. A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Evening cultural visit around the crates is amazing. Meal plan: full board

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Early morning trek for chimpanzees. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park following the footsteps of Mt Rwenzori, sightseeing and game viewing enroute. High end/luxurious accommodation- spectacular Mweya Lodge or Jacana Lodge, Katara Lodge, Hippo Hill camp, perched right on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Uganda great Lakes and Maramagambo forest respectively. Low budget/basic accommodation- Simba Safari Camp, Mweya Hostel. Meal plan: full board

DAY 4: IN QUEEN

Dawn game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. Famous for elephant and kob, expect to see some rarer animals like giant forest hog. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park! After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, for large numbers of buffalo and hippo. Dinner and overnight as indicated above;

DAY 5: TRAVEL TO BWINDI

Today’s drive is through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests which reach to the volcanoes in which live the mountain gorillas. A visit to the bat Cave close to Maramagambo forest or a glance of Kyambura gorge is a must! Make a game drive at Ishasha on your way to Bwindi in search of the tree climbing lions. Later, drive to Bwindi via the beautiful scenery of the tea plantations. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and over night at; High end/luxurious accommodation- Gorilla Forest Camp or Bwindi Resort, Ruhija Lodge. Medium class accommodation- Buhoma Lodge, Engagi Lodge, Silverback lodge, Lake Kitandara Tented Camp. Low budget/basic accommodation- Buhoma Community Bandas. Meal plan: full board.

DAY 6: GORILLA TREK IN BWINDI

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00a.m with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. Dinner and over night at as above.

DAY 7: RETURN TO ENTEBBE

Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch enroute and stop over at Equator Uganda before your evening departures home. Meal plan: (B,L)
